Russ "songs are wonderfully written with memorable melodies and lyrics that speak directly to young children."

-Toronto City Parent-

Award winning children's singer, Russ Clayton, has been entertaining families with his performances since 1995.  In the very same tradition as early children's performers such as "Raffi", "Sharon, Lois & Bram", and "Fred Penner", Russ delivers a unique blend of popular folk songs, and original tunes.  With over nine years experience as an Elementary School teacher, Russ' music is not only interactive and fun, but also combines several elements of music theory and early literacy.  He has performed at folk festivals, schools, libraries, and has become a highly sought after entertainer for Family Literacy Events.

With four CDs and over 12 years of performing concerts for young children, some of Russ' most memorable and requested songs include: "Grandma's Big Old Purse", "In Our Balloon", "A Whale Of A Time", "The Duct Tape Song", "Sleeping Bunnies", "The Little Skunk's Hole", "The Dirty Song", "The Vegetable Party", and "Dinosaur At Heart."

The well-known Canadian children's label "Casablanca Kids" has re-released more than a dozen of Russ' songs on their most recent compilation CDs.  In 2006, his original composition "Hop And Bop" was included on the compilation CD entitled "Dance Party."  This CD went on to win a 2006 "i Parenting Media Award" for best new products.  Other awards attained by Russ on the Casablanca Label include a 2007 "i Parenting Media Award", a 2007 "Parent's Choice Approved Award", and a 2007 "National Parenting Publications GOLD Award."  His music is also frequently played on the CBC's "Continuous Music Network, as well as several other radio stations throughout Canada and the U.S.

Russ recently joined the "Canadian Podcast Directory", where he broadcasts his music video show for young children, entitled "Russ TV".  The show is also available from his website.  Each 5 to 10 minute episode engages children from start to finish, and encourages physical movement and singing, while teaching early concepts of rhythm and beat, and exploring musical instruments.  The show is gaining the interest and admiration of many parents and children, who tune in each week for an interactive sing along.
